After spotting Fergus Falls a 2-0 lead the St. Cloud Tech Tigers went on a 27-2 run to take a huge lead on the way to an 87-47 Central Lakes Conference boys’ basketball victory over the Otters on Tuesday night at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.
Donald Ferguson (23 points, 5 assists) and Dontae Horshaw (22 points, 4 assists) packed a powerful one-two punch for the Tigers, who placed four players in double digits. Garrison Murray and Jayln Simmons contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. Devin Yeager led the Tigers with 7 rebounds and Simmons added 6 boards as St. Cloud Tech won the rebounding battle 37-27.
Luke Newman was the leader for the Otters, scoring 18 points, pulling down 8 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. Elliot Pribbenow added 8 points and Henry Bethel had 6. Fergus Falls had 23 turnovers in the game.
The Otters (6-6) will play at Willmar on Friday night. Tech improved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the CLC.
