“Ran into a very tough Hawley team tonight,” said Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “We got outworked in the first half which led to offensive rebounds and extra opportunities for them. Second half we competed much better, but Hawley proved why they are the class of section 8AA. It’s good for our girls to see this level of play and hopefully we can learn from it.”
Summer Pettit led the Wolverines with 11 points and Addyson Gravelle chipped in with 8.
Hawley (5-2) will play in the Roseville Area High School Christmas Tournament on Tuesday, December 28 and Wednesday, December 29.
Wadena-Deer Creek (4-3) is off until Tuesday, January 4 when they host the Henning Hornets.
