The Hancock boys’ basketball team built a 29-14 halftime lead on the way to a 57-41 victory over Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night. Matt Thompson had a monster game for the owls with 34 points and 16 rebounds. Hudson VerSteeg added 9 points, 7 boards and 3 assists, while Luke Joos finished with 5 points, 4 assists and 3 steals.
Hancock made 13-of-32 (41%) field goal attempts and won the battle of the boards, 37-19. Parkers Prairie shot 45% (13-29) on the night.
The Panthers were led by 16 points from Mason Arens and 8 points from Jacob Wagner.
Hancock (1-1) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Thursday night.
The next action for Parkers Prairie (2-2) is a home game against Browerville on Friday night.
