Battle Lake got off to a slow start in their Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball game with Parkers Prairie on Friday night, but midway through the first half they were able to get the lead and they took a 24-22 advantage into halftime.  They were able to increase that lead and maintain the lead throughout the second half for a 48-40 win.

“In the second half we started to get into a better offensive flow and with a couple mid-range jumpers by Emmie Lundquist and some solid inside lay from Morgan Malone we were able to extend a double digit lead,” said Head Coach David Marso of the lady Battlers.  “l was really proud of how the girls battled and adapted after the slow start.  It was also really good to see Morgan have such a strong game.”

Malone was the leading scorer with 19 points and Grace VanErp finished with 10.  Lundquist and Ady Tysdal each recorded 8 points.

Kade Wehking led Parkers Prairie with 15 points.

Battle Lake (4-0) is back in action Tuesday with a road game in Evansville against the Brandon-Evansville Chargers.

Parkers Prairie will take a 2-2 record into their Tuesday battle with Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls.
