Alex Boys Basketball team picked up a 58-38 win over Sauk Rapids-Rice in its home opener on Thursday night. The Cards jumped out to an early 10 point lead, but struggled to sustain that cushion due an inability to attack the Storm's half-court zone defense consistently. The 2nd half proved a different story as Alex ratcheted up its defense and quickened the pace of the game, while also playing much more efficiently against the Storm zone defense.
