The Underwood girls’ basketball team is coming off an 11-1 Little Eight Conference championship season that saw them go 17-4 overall on the way to a runner-up finish in Section 6A.  With a ton of experience returning and a deep bench, the Rockets are poised to challenge for conference and section titles this season.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what this team can do,” said Head Coach Brian Hovland, now in his seventeenth season.  “We should be strong defensively and we will have a deep bench that will allow us to do different things.”

The Rockets lost Brooke Hovland, Lydia Baker and Ruby Dahlen to graduation.  They are also missing Josey Bugbee, who is out with a knee injury.

Senior Brianna Evavold (Guard), juniors Moraes Bugbee, Zoey Swanson, Jorja Gabrielson, Alayna Evavold, Becca Johnson and Amelia Blaskowski, sophomores Liz Lukken, Ezrah Baker and Brooklyn Christianson, and freshmen Kallyn Grove and Mily Albjerg will form a formidable roster of talent for the Rockets.

Hovland points to Hancock, Breckenridge, New York Mills and Henning as teams to beat in the Section 6A race.
