Fergus Falls and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy squared off in a high school girls' soccer match on Tuesday at Danielson Field on the Hillcrest campus. The Otters scored a first half goal for a 1-0 halftime lead, but the Comets scored a late goal to tie the contest at 1-1 and force overtime. Neither team was able to score in the extra minutes as the game ended in a tie.
Piper Andrews notched the Fergus Falls goal with an assist from Madi Budke.
Hillcrest scored the game tying goal with 3 1/2 minutes to play in the second half.
"Hillcrest played a very nice game," commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens. "They stuck to their game plan and it worked out well for them."
The Otters play at East Grand Forks on Thursday.
