"Our performance was a result of confident play by a group of very determined young women," added Coach Zupfer.  "They have been pushed hard all season by talented teams in our conference and our section.  Brainerd and Detroit Lakes are teams that would have challenged for a state title, had they come out of our section.  Another conference school, Fergus Falls, placed third in the State AA tournament.  Every coach strives to have their teams playing their best at the end of the season.  For many teams the end of the season is the section meet.  For a select few teams the end of the season is at the state tournament.  After 5 consecutive 2nd place finishes in Section 8AAA, we were thrilled to get a chance to play in the State AAA Tournament.  To have these players all perform so well at the same time made for a very memorable day!"

Detroit Lakes golfer McKenna Mallow (78-71=149) took seventh place and her teammate, Laura Syltie (90-93=183) was 68th.
