The Spartans’ Wyatt Blomseth shot an even par round of 72 to win the individual NJCAA Division III National Golf Championship on Friday in Chautauqua, New York, becoming the first National Champion Golfer in school history. His final 4-day total of 291 edged out Andreas Huber of Sandhills Community College by one stroke. Sandhills (1197) won the team title by one stroke over Georgia Military (1198), and M State was third with a score of 1220 (301-312-303-304).
M State golfer Wyatt Blomseth fired a 2-under par 70 and is tied for first place in the individual competition at the NJCAA Division III Men’s National Golf Tournament in Chautauqua, New York after three rounds of play. Blomseth’s three day total is a 3-over par 219, tying him with Andreas Huber of Sandhills CC for first place. The Spartans shot a 303 team total which leaves them at 916 through three rounds and in third place. Sandhills Community College is first with a 906 and Georgia Military is second at 910.
The M State Men’s Golf Team followed up their 301 first round team score with a 312 on Wednesday in the second round of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Chautauqua, New York. Their two-day total of 613 places them third, behind Georgia Military Academy 603 (303-300) and Sandhills CC 604 (304-300).
