Alexandria Golf Teams within Striking Distance Headed to Day Two at State

Both the Alexandria Girls' and Boys' Golf teams turned in solid performances on day one of the Class AAA State Tournament at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids on Tuesday, putting them both within striking distance of a state championship heading into the final day of competition on Wednesday.

The Alexandria girls' shot a team score of 319, leaving them just two strokes behind Maple Grove (317).  Edina and Eden Prairie are next at 333, followed by Stillwater at 336 and Eastview at 346.

Hannah Boraas and Cora Larson led the Alexandria girls with rounds of 75, putting them in a tie for tenth place.  Lauren Rebrovich shot an 86 and Aisling O'Connor an 86 to fill the team scoring for round one.  Isabella Hagen (97) and Rachel Bowen (100) completed the Cardinals scores for the day.

The Alexandria boys' are fourth with a score of 304, just six back of leading Edina (298).  Maple Grove is second at 301 and Eastview third at 302.  Chaska shot a 305 and trail the Cardinals by just one stroke in a tightly contested tournament.

Grant Rebrovich shot a 71 and finds himself tied for eighth place after day one, while Braeden Sladek is tied for 15th after recording a 73.  Bennett Olsen shot a 79 and Carver Larson an 81.  Jack Holtz (87) and Ashton Sladek (88) completed the team scoring for the day.
