The Alexandria Girls Golf Team hosted the first round of the Central Lakes Conference Championship Meet Monday at The Alexandria Golf Club.  After one round of play, the Cardinals hold a 15 shot lead over Brainerd.  Sartell was third with a 370 total and Fergus Falls was fourth with a 372.  They were followed by Moorhead 390, Willmar 399, Bemidji 405, Rocori 460, Apollo/Tech 461.

“We had three players lead the way with a 1, 2, 3 finish as Aisling O'Connor shot a personal best score of 76, Hannah Boraas followed with 77, and Cora Larson with 78,” reported Alexandria Head Coach Timothy Zupfer.  “Lauren Rebrovich followed with an 83 giving the Cardinals 4 players in the top six places individually.”

Fergus Falls golfers Annika Jyrkas and Ellia Soydara are tied for 9th place after turning in scores of 86.  Thea Eklund shot a 99, Lexi Metcalf had a 101, Ella Mayer finished with a 104 and Anna Mayer came in with a 108.

“Annika and Ellia led our team with a pair of 86’s,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “We are still waiting to see some consistency in our balance.  We’ve had times that we have shown it so we know it’s there. The girls work hard, we will do our best to pull it all together.”

The second round of the championship will be held at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell on Monday May 24.
