Spartans Hold Commanding Lead after Opening Round of Region XIII Golf Tournament
The M State Spartan Men’s golf team shot 311 in round one of the Region XIII Championship and hold a big lead over their nearest competition heading into the final round on Thursday. Alex Tech sits in second place with a 351 total and Southwest Tech is third at 359. The winning team will advance to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, June 8-11 at Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, New York.
Carter Justesen of the Spartans had the low round of the day with a 76. M State carded 4 scores in the 70’s as Grant Inniger fired a 77, Wyatt Blomseth a 79 and Hunter Burnside a 79. John Vall came in with an 82.
Tee times begin at 9am on Thursday at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.
