The Fergus Falls girls’ golf team took first place at Bemidji on Wednesday, firing a team score of 351.  Second place went to Park Rapids Area with a 388, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River was third at 395 and Crookston finished fourth with a 396.    Freshman Annika Jyrkas of the Otters was the medalist with a score of 81.  Anna Eckmann of Park Rapids Area was runner-up with an 82.

Third place went to Maddi Manninga of Park Rapids Area with an 86 and Ellia Soydara of the Otters was fourth with an 88.  Crookston senior Joslynn Leach finished fifth with a 90 and Fergus Falls golfers Ella Mayer and Annie Mayer tied for sixth place with rounds of 91.

“The girls played very well today on a gorgeous day on an awesome golf course,” stated Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Annika led us with her first High School medalist honor and Ellia backed her up with a solid round.  Jyrkas’ win is the second medalist honor the Otters have had as Soydara earned Medalist in Moorhead earlier this season.  It’s great to see some balance in our lineup.  I’m really proud of all the girls.  It was great to have four scores all under control.”

Rounding out the Otter scores were Lexi Metcalf with a 98 and Thea Eklund with a 109.
