The Otter boys golf team competed at the Bemidji Town & Country Club on Monday in a 16 team invite.  It ended up being a tournament within a tournament as all 9 teams from the Central Lakes Conference were there competing as well.

The boys finished 7th out of 16 in the invite and 5th out of 9 in the CLC portion of the event with a score of 332.  The Otters were led by Chance Fazio who posted a nice round of 80 on the difficult course.  "It was nice to see our senior captain lead the team.  He's been working hard and it shows."  - Coach Matt McGovern said.  Charlie Fuder (sophomore) followed the scoring with an 81, Riley McGovern (freshman) posted an 83, and Adam Kennedy (eighth) shot an 88.  Gavin Goepferd (freshman) and Ryan Nelson (freshman) shot respectable scores of 91 and 93.

"Bemidji is a special course for the Otters because we have our section tournament there.  Other than Charlie and Chance, none of the boys have seen or played this golf course.  The scores they shot today were impressive and the experience they gained is even more important." - added McGovern

The tournament was won by Alexandria with a team score of 297.  Beck Erholtz from Staples-Motley won the individual title with a 2 under par 70.
