The Alexandria baseball team hosted Sartell on Thursday evening with the Sabres posting a 4-0 victory to remain undefeated at 7-0, snapping a 4 game Cardinal winning streak in the process.

“It was a good baseball game all around with good pitching and solid defense for both teams,” commented Alexandria Head Coach Jacob Munsch.

Will Suchy started his first game of the year and settled in nicely going five innings and allowing 4 earned runs on five hits.  Will struck out 7 and walked 5.  Parker Jendro relieved Suchy and continued to pitch well, walking no Sabre batters, and striking out 3.

“Sartell’s pitchers kept us in check throughout the game winning many good battles at the plate,” said Coach Munsch.  “We collected a total of just 4 hits in the game with Dayton Downing, JD Hennen, Devin Cimbura, and Shay Endres each collecting one.”

The Cardinals (5-3) will host Moorhead on Friday night.
