The Alexandria baseball team scored 16 runs on 15 hits Thursday as they cruised to a 16-2 win over Fergus Falls at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park in Fergus Falls.  The Cardinals led 8-2 after six innings and added 8 more runs in the seventh to break the game wide open.

Carter Thielke went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Otters who managed seven hits in the contest.  Ian Stumbo, Aric Heacox, Owen Krueger and Abel Aho had the other hits.

Heacox (3IP, 6R, 5H, 2K, 3BB) was the losing pitcher.  Kaden Conklin (3IP, 2R, 5H, 2K, 0BB) turned in a strong performance out of the bullpen.

“We played better today, but we have to find a way to make the routine plays consistently,” said Head coach Kevin Pearson.

No Alexandria stats have been reported.

The Otters will try to rebound when they face St. Cloud Apollo in a double header on Friday in St. Cloud.
