The Otter Boys Golf team competed in their first Central Lakes Conference meet on Friday at Rich Spring Golf Club, the home course of the ROCORI Spartans.  There are 9 teams competing this year in the CLC with the welcome addition of Bemidji.

The Otters finished in 6th place out of 9 shooting a team score of 352.  Charlie Fuder (10th) and Ryan Nelson (9th) led the way for the Otters with a pair of 86's.  Rounding out the scoring for the Otters were Riley McGovern (9th) and Gavin Goepferd (9th) who each shot a 90.  Other scores include Adam Kennedy (8th) with a 91 and Sam Western (12th) with a 98.

"I was proud of the boys for how they competed but they all agreed we could have done better.  We have a really young team and for them to be disappointed in the results at the age these guys are at shows you the competitive nature of these boys.  The future is bright," said 4th year head coach Matt McGovern.

The tournament was won by Brainerd with a final score of 324.  Individually the tournament was won by Logan Hamek (12th) of Sartell with a 2 over par 74.

The Otters compete again at Geneva GC in Alexandria on Thursday, April 22.

The Otters are coached by Matt McGovern (head coach), Travis Johnson (assistant coach/JV), and Trevor Larson (middle school).
