The Brandon-Evansville girls’ basketball team scored a season high 73 points on Thursday night as they improved their season record to 8-8 with a 73-40 victory over the Ortonville Trojans in Brandon.

Mikenna Pattrin led the way with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 2 steals and one assist.  Bailey Schaefer and Olivia Otto contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.  Schaefer also had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists.

“Tonight we scored our most points of the season, but still had a few issues with our turnovers and some defensive lapses,” said B-E Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “We know that these are things that need to get cleaned up quickly, but I was happy with our effort and energy. I thought Sydney Schaefer (6 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals) really gave us some good minutes off the bench tonight and gave us a spark late in the first half to really build a solid lead. We did a much better job of moving our feet and not reaching in the second half. We need to carry over the positives from tonight into tomorrow night for our home finale against a talented Parkers Prairie team.”

Following their Friday game with Parkers Prairie the Chargers will head to Rothsay for their final regular season game on Saturday night.

Ortonville (0-18) recorded their second highest point total of the season in the loss.
