The West Central Area girls’ basketball team led 48-29 at the half on Thursday night and went on to record an impressive 82-43 road win over Brandon-Evansville.

B-E was led by 19 points, 3 rebounds 2 assists and 4 steals by Bailey Schaefer.  The Chargers connected on 16-of-44 (36%) field goal attempts.

“We battled well for the first 13 minutes of the game,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen, “but a barrage of 3s and some untimely turnovers before the end of the half really took the wind out of our sails. West Central played a really good game. They made us uncomfortable and that is something we need to improve on moving forward. Our focus is to be playing our best basketball at the end of the year, and we have 5 more games in the regular season to get this thing right.”

No stats have been reported for WCA.

Brandon-Evansville (5-8) will play at Ashby on Saturday.

West Central Area (11-4) is at Ortonville for their next game on Monday night.
