The Hancock girls’ basketball team ran their winning streak to ten games when they defeated Battle Lake 66-35 on Monday night.

Hancock placed four players in double digits, led by Carlee Hanson with 16.  Kaitlyn Staples added 11 and two players, Alexis Staples and Rylee Hanson chipped in with ten points each.  Rylee Hanson led the team with 8 rebounds, while Carlee Hanson and Tori Pahl each snared 6.  Carlee Hanson had a team high 3 assists and Kaitlyn Staples led with 3 steals.

“Hancock was just too much for us tonight,” said Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.  “Early on we were able to hang around but a couple three point shots late in the first half, gave the Owls a 10 point lead at the break, 21-31.  In the second half, the Owls started to assert themselves and their depth was just too much for us to handle.  The Owls are a very balanced team and go deep into their bench.”

Ady Tysdal led Battle Lake with 17 points and Grace VanErp contributed 13.

The lady Owls (10-0) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Friday night.

Battle Lake (4-6) will host Little Eight Conference rival Ashby on Thursday.
