Hancock struggled with their shooting, hitting only 24% (12/50) of their field goal attempts on Saturday afternoon, however, the Owls were able to hold off Parkers Prairie for a 37-35 victory.

Alexis Staples led the home team with 12 points and Carlee Hanson had 10.  Tori Pahl and Misti Zempel contributed 8 and 4 points, respectively. Staples also had a team high 6 rebounds, while Hanson, Pahl and Rylee Hanson each collected 5 rebounds.  Hanson led the Owls with 4 steals. Kaitlyn Staples and Jenna Kannegiesser dished out two assists each.

Parkers Prairie made 37.8% (14-37) of their shots from the floor.  Hancock held a slim 27-24 advantage on the boards.

Hancock ran their winning streak to start the season to seven games.  They will play a pair of road games this coming week, traveling to Fergus Falls on Monday to face Hillcrest Lutheran Academy and going to Barrett on Friday to face West Central Area.

The loss was the first for the 6-1 Panthers, who will host Brandon-Evansville on Thursday in their next contest.
