The Brandon-Evansville girls’ basketball team fell behind 29-20 at the half on Friday night on their home court against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.  The Chargers outscored the Wolverines 22-19 over the final 18 minutes, but couldn’t overcome the 9-point halftime deficit as they suffered a 48-42 loss.

“We struggled to make shots tonight that we normally would make and that hurt us,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “Credit to CGB, they played a sound game and made things difficult for us. We never were really able to get into a flow of the game due to foul trouble and an inability to score in the paint. Our girls kept chipping away in the second half, but ultimately they made more plays than us to secure the win.”

Bailey Schaefer and Mikenna Pattrin led the Chargers with 11 points each.  B-E struggled on offense, making only 24% (13-53) of their shots on the night.  Schaefer finished with6 rebounds, while Pattrin and Maddie Otto each had five boards.  Otto also came up with 6 steals.  Korrie Randt led the team with 4 assists.

The loss snapped a four game winning streak for B-E and puts their record at 4-3.  They will play their next game on Thursday at Parkers Prairie.

CGB (5-2) will host Benson next Friday.
