Yellowjackets Post Pair of Shutouts Against Breckenridge

The Perham Yellowjackets shutout the Breckenridge Cowboys in both ends of a double header on Thursday, winning game one, 18-0, and taking game two, 3-0.   Drew Ellingson (5IP, 3H, 3BB, 6K0 was the winning pitcher in the first game.  Perham collected 13 hits and capitalized on 5 errors by the Cowboys.  The Yellowjackets scored five runs in the first inning, four in the second, four more in the third and completed their scoring with a 5-run fourth inning.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



Two Fergus Falls High School graduates are in the national spotlight in NCAA Division III Women's Hockey.

On Thursday, 1983 Fergus Falls High School graduate Joe Cranston, in his 25th season as the head women’s hockey coach at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, was named the NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.  On Sunday afternoon, Cranston’s Falcons defeated Elmira College 4-1 at Hunt Arena in River Falls to win the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship.  The national title is the first in UWRF’s history during its 25th anniversary season, finishing with a  31-0 overall record, the most single season wins in NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey history and the fourth ever undefeated season.
