The Hillcrest Track and Field team competed in the Section 6A - Sub-Section 21 Meet Thursday, hosted by Barnesville.  All five of the Comets entered athletes qualified for the Section Meet next Thursday, June 1 at Pelican Rapids.

Matthew Knutson was 3rd in the Long Jump (19-09) and fourth in the 1600 (5:07.57), and Gabe Swedenberg qualified third in the 200 meter dash (24.57) and fourth in the 400 meter dash (54.87).  Katie Holzner placed 2nd (12:34.21) in the 3200.  Running their personal best times were Drew Fischer with a sixth place in the 400 meter dash (56.81) and Elsa Retzlaff with a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run (2:35.59), to also qualify. The girls and boys teams placed 10th of 11 teams.

The Perham girls’ track and field team hosted their Invitational on Tuesday, winning the event with 218 points.  Wadena-Deer Creek was second with 111.  They were followed by Ottertail Central 68, Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 64, Ashby-Brandon-Evansville 54, New York Mills 19, Frazee 15 and Parkers Prairie 7.
