Hawley shot 48% (22-45) on the night and Barnesville hit 42% (19-45) of their shots.
The Trojans were led by Kellen Hinsz with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Hunter Zenzen finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Adam Tonsfeldt had a team high 4 assists and Brooks Martinson contributed 4 steals, 2 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 points.
“This was an outstanding effort by our kids after losing to them by 18 earlier this season,” said Barnesville Assistant Coach Tracy Hinsz. “We led 51-45 with under three minutes to go but couldn’t finish. We turned the ball over and our shots were all coming up just short as they outscored us 12-2 down the stretch. They are a real solid team and we did a nice job mixing up our defenses which gave them some trouble.”
Barnesville (16-8) will close out their regular season schedule at home against East Grand Forks on Friday night.
