The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team halted a three game losing skid defeating the Verndale Pirates 67-41 on Thursday night in Verndale.  The Arrows worked hard to establish a 35-21 advantage at halftime.

Scott Johnson led all scorers with 32 points.  Noah Johnson was the only other Arrow to reach double digits netting 14.  Christian Norby grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, and had 5 steals to set the pace for the Arrows in those categories.  The Arrows held the rebounding edge at 27-21.  Ashby made a season high 10 shots from behind the three point line.  They converted 11/16 (69%) of their free throws.

“The guys had active hands and feet defensively and recorded 18 assists on 23 made baskets,” noted Head Coach John Holsten of the Arrows.

The victory improves the Arrows season mark to 14-6 with a trip to Underwood waiting in the wings Friday night.
