Pearson Leads Otter Girls Over Apollo with Double-Double

Fergus Falls senior post player Lily Pearson recorded a double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds) and Ellie Colbeck also poured in 22 points while dishing out 4 assists, to lead the Otters to a 74-70 win over St. Cloud Apollo on Tuesday night in St. Cloud.

The Otters led 32-29 at the half and outscored Apollo 42-41 over the final eighteen minutes to improve their season record to 18-4 and their Central Lakes Conference mark to 10-3.

 

Tori Ratz and Sam Evavold joined Pearson and Colbeck in double digits with 15 and 11 points, respectively.  Ratz dished out 6 assists on the night and Sabrina Fronning had a team high 7 helpers.  The Otters as a team assisted on 21 of their 28 made field goals.

 

Fergus Falls held a 30-19 advantage on the boards and made 9-of-12 free throws.

 

St. Cloud Apollo was led by Lariah Washington with 30 points, including 8-of-8 on the foul line.  Chloe Swanson added 18 and Jessica Timpane had 13.  Ashley Koep led the Eagles with 5 assists.

 

The Otters will host Willmar on Thursday night, travel to St. Cloud to face Tech on Friday and then return home for their final game of the regular season on Saturday night against Sauk Rapids-Rice.  Fergus Falls will open post season play on Tuesday night.
