The Prairie’s Edge Dental 10U A Team held two contests on home ice on February 9 & 10.

The first matchup brought the Otters up against the Green Wave of East Grand Forks. The Otters took control of the ice early, and earned a decisive 8-0 victory. Scoring for the Otters were Rachel DeBrito (2), Brook Zierden (2), Maggie GreenagelEvelyn WedllLydia Johnson and Shay Katzenmeyer. Providing the assists for the game were Zierden (2), DeBrito (2), Wedll, Greenagel, Olivia Jurgens & Maddison BrimhallKatie Bergren, in her first turn in goal for the season, earned the shutout for the Otters.

On Sunday, the A’s faced off against a tough Moorhead team. In two previous meetings, the Spuds had walked away with wins. After a scoreless first period on both sides of the ice, Moorhead pulled out in front at the 13 minute mark of the second. Then, in the third, Zierden and Katzenmeyer provided the assist to Wedll, who earned the game-tying goal. Otter goalie Jurgens shut down several Moorhead attempts to earn the win, both in the third period and in a 5-minute overtime. As Overtime ended with a 1-1 score, the scorebooks record this game as a tie. But, both teams agreed to a shootout for the bragging-rights win. Despite Moorhead sneaking one puck past Jurgens, both Greenagel and Brimhall found the back of the net for the Otters, earning the shootout win.

The 10UA Otters return to the road this weekend, where they will compete in the District tournament in Detroit Lakes.
