Otter Girls Improve to 17-3 with Ninth Straight Win

The Fergus Falls girls basketball team improved their season record to 17-3 with their ninth straight win on Tuesday night, defeating St. Cloud Apollo by the score of 70-44.  The Otters led 27-21 at the half and put 43 second half points on the board.

"We had great energy to start the second half and received a good effort from everyone," said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  "Lily Pearson was cleared to play tonight and it was good to have her back in the lineup."

Tori Ratz led three players in double digits for Fergus Falls, scoring 21 points, 18 of them after halftime.  Pearson finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Ellie Colbeck also had 11 points.  Paige Pearson came off the bench to provided 7 points and 6 rebounds.  Sabrina Fronning (6 points, 6 steals, 3 assists, 3 rebounds) and Sam Evavold (8 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists) had great floor games for the Otters.

Lariah Washington led Apollo with a game high 25 points.

The JV game went to Fergus Falls, 61-28.  Anna Anderson led the way with 12 points.  Carlie Meis and Andreya Lockett had 11 points each.  In the 'B' game, Fergus Falls won 73-9.  Laci Strom led the Otters with 16 points.  Emily Nuss and Hannah Polejewski had 15 points apiece.

Fergus Falls will face Sauk Rapids-Rice at 6:00pm Friday as part of a girl/boy doubleheader on Cancer Prevention and Awareness night at the Kennedy Secondary School.  Fans are encouraged to wear pink.
