Lady Spartans Lose in Wisconsin

M State shot just 33.3% (19-57) from the field on Thursday night in LaCrosse, Wisconsin as they fell to Western Technical College by the score of 67-59. The lady Spartans trailed 18-15 after one quarter, 31-29 at the half and 49-46 after three quarters. They were outscored 18-13 over the final ten minutes of play.

 

The home team shot the ball at a 30.3% (23-76) clip but capitalized on a 55-47 advantage on the boards and by creating extra possessions by forcing 22 Spartan turnovers in the game.

Kerrigan Lyga (13 points, 6 rebounds), Caitlin Young (11 points, 7 rebounds) and Krysten Lawver (10 points, 6 rebounds) led the way for Western Technical College. Casey Moger came up with four steals.

M State was led by 19 points from Sydney Hovland and 13 from Kassandra AlgarateMegan Dreger added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, and Taylin Schleicher contributed 7 points, 11 rebounds and 2 steals. Alexa Mortensonchipped in with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals.
