Six-six junior Owen Davis poured in 30 points and six-four senior Joey Saueradded 15 points to lead the Brainerd boys basketball team to a 67-58 Central Lakes Conference victory over the Fergus Falls Otters on Thursday night in Brainerd.

Once Brainerd took the lead at 5-2 they kept it for the rest of the night, leading 28-23 at the half.  The Otters had trimmed the lead to one point at 21-20, but Brainerd went on a seven point run to build the lead to eight just before a Cody Norgrenthree-pointer put the halftime margin at five points.

Brainerd was able to build the lead to thirteen on multiple occasions in the second half as the Otters struggled to stop the Warriors on the offensive end of the court.

Fergus Falls also turned the ball over 16 times compared to just nine for Brainerd.  The Warriors went to the free throw line 22 times, making 14, while the Otters shot only five free throws and made three.  Fergus Falls was led by Dominic Aguilarwith 23 points. Nic Pearson added 13 points and dozen rebounds, and Ethan Olson contributed eight points.

Fergus Falls (8-8, 5-4 CLC) will host Little Falls in a girl/boy double header on Saturday night at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.

The Otters were without senior captain Matthew Johnson who is out with a shoulder injury. Johnson will be seeing a specialist for further evaluation of the injury on Friday.
