The Fergus Falls boys basketball team shot just 28% (14-43) from the field on Friday night as they dropped a 54-50 decision to the Rocori Spartans at the Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls. The Spartans made 45% (20-44) of their field goal attempts on the night, shooting 54% as they built a 32-22 halftime lead. Rocori never trailed in the game as they snapped a four game losing streak and ended a four game Otter winning streak.
Jayden Philippi made 7-of-8 three-point attempts and led the Spartans with 22 points. Mason Roos finished with 13 points.
Matthew Johnson paced the Otters with 26 points, making 11-of-13 free throws. He also had 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Dominic Aguilaradded 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Nic Pearson had 3 assists.
Fergus Falls (8-6 overall, 5-3 CLC) will host Moorhead on Tuesday night.
