The Minnesota Motors Squirt B team played 3 games last weekend, 2 at home and another close to it.

On Friday night, the B’s hosted Morris-Benson Silver. Having previously fallen to the same team in Overtime, the Otters knew they would have to work hard to come out on top. In the first period, MBA pulled out to a 2-0 lead, then added another with 5 minutes to go in the second. Then, Quinn Wynn-Sheldon threaded a great shot past the goalie for an unassisted score to prevent the shutout. However, it would be the only Otter goal of the evening, with MBA skating away with a 4-1 victory. Rowan Cheshire shut down 23 shots in goal.

Then, on Saturday, the Otters made the short trip to Breckenridge-Wahpeton to face the Blades’ Squirt White. After some trouble scoring the previous evening, Saturday’s game was a different story. Cheshire scored two unassisted to start the B’s off right, and Drew Johnson added a third before the first buzzer. Wynn-Sheldon had the only goal of the second period, then scored first in the third, this time assisted by Nolan Wedll. After a Breck-Wahp goal, Wedll again provided the assist, this time to Jared Kennedy. Next up, Andreyus Lopez lit the lamp twice, assisted once by Simon McGovern. Then, in the final minute, Cheshire completed his Hat Trick for one last Otter goal. With a final score of 9-1, the Killer B’s returned home victorious.

On Sunday, the Squirts hosted Little Falls. Just 18 seconds in, Wynn-Sheldon again found his way to the highlight reel with an unassisted goal. He would go on to earn the Hat Trick before the first intermission, with assists to McGovern on the second and Hunter Welle on the third. Despite Fergus pulling ahead early, Little Falls was not to be beaten easily, and scored 2 unanswered goals in the second period before tying it up early in the third. After an intense 5 minutes of Overtime, including a successful Otter penalty kill, both teams hit the locker rooms with a 3-3 tie on the books. Shots on goal were also nearly even, with 22 for Little Falls and 21 for Fergus.

The Minnesota Motors B Squad returns to the road this weekend, with a Saturday doubleheader: First up is a rematch with Little Falls, followed by a first-time matchup with Sartell Blue.
