Otter Girls Place Five in Double Digits to Beat Moorhead

The Fergus Falls girls basketball team hit 59% (29-49) of their field goal attempts and placed all five of their starters in double figures on Tuesday night as they recorded their tenth win of the season, a 72-51 road victory over the Moorhead Spuds.

Ellie Colbeck led the Otters with 18 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds.  Lily Pearson added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.  Sam Evavold had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, Tori Ratz had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and Sabrina Fronning finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

"I loved our preparation coming into this game," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  "We had great energy all night long and the girls had great team work from start to finish."

Fergus Falls had a 27-20 edge on the boards and assisted on 19 baskets as a team.

Moorhead was led by Jalen Ennen and Rylie Polomny with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Fergus Falls (10-3) will host Hawley on Friday night in the first half of a girl/boy double header at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.

The JV team suffered their first loss of the season, 52-28.  They were  led by Carlie Meis with 8 points and Anna Anderson with 6 points.

The B team also lost for the first time this season, falling 33-28.  Hannah Polejewski had a team high 13 points.
