Breckenridge led 50-40 at the half and also received 19 points from Justin Marsh, 12 from Caden McGough and 11 from Hunter Feigum.
“We played a very strong offensive game tonight and had a lot of guys who contributed to the offensive flow,” said Breckenridge Assistant Coach Derek Grahn. “Playing against a conference opponent is never easy so it was nice to have a well-played game.”
Pelican Rapids was led by the 21 points of Jayden Rutherford, while McHale Korf had 17 and Hayden Christenson 10.
"We liked the fight our guys showed in tonight's game against a very good Breckenridge team," stated head coach John Gullingsrud. "We fell behind by 16 early in the game but fought our way back to within five at one point late in the first half. They maintained their ten point halftime lead for much of the second half as we couldn't make a run to get any closer and ran out of gas towards the end of the game."
Breckenridge improved to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the HOL, and Pelican Rapids dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-4 in the HOL.
