Knights Win Sixth Straight

The West Central Area Knights travelled to Wheaton and recorded another well balanced 82-52 win over the Warriors to win their 6th straight game. 

 

The Knights hit 30-60 shots for 50% including 8-21 threes for 38% and 14-21 free throws.  The Warriors hit 20-51 shots for 39% but made 47% of their threes (8-17) and 4 of 9 from the free throw line. 

The Knights dominated the boards 38-26 and only turned the ball over seven times compared to 15 for the Warriors. 

Leaders for the Knights were Grant Beuckens with 18 points and 7 assists; Jack VanKempen 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists; Gage Staples 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals; Teigen Moritz 10 points on (5-6) from the field and 6 rebounds; Tate Christenson 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals; Jacob Bright 5 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals; Blake Koloski 4 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals; Brady Reeve 4 points and 5 rebounds; Gavin Paulson 2 points and 4 rebounds; and Braedon Blondeau with 3 points.  Kyle Schill contributed 1 assist and Ryder Staples contributed 1 rebound. 

Scoring for the Warriors were Nick Lupkes with 15 points, Hunter Johnson 13, Matt Theilen 11, Zach Stueve 8, Matt Franzese 3, and Dylan Bainbridge 2. 

"All twelve guys played very unselfish with good ball movement.  We had a lot of assisted baskets and played with enthusiasm", said Knight Coach Kraig Hunter

The Knights (9-3) will host #10 state ranked Ortonville (8-1) next Friday.
