Lady Knights Win Big in Long Prairie

The West Central Area Lady Knights traveled to Long Prairie Grey Eagle to take on the Thunder in a girl/boy basketball double header. The girls game started out with the Knights going on a 14-1 rim. The Knights kept on rolling and they held a 41-15 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same with the final ending up 71-28.

“Tonight was a near perfect game for us,” said Head Coach Eric Schoenbauer. “The girls put everything together tonight and never let up throughout the game.”

Tonight the Knights were led by Ella Van Kempen with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Lexi Bright added 13 points, 7 steals, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Kennedy Ulrich chipped in 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. Kaitlyn Hansen scored 8 points, stole the ball 2 times, had a rebound and an assist. Morgan Woodle had 6 points, 5 rebounds, a steal and an assist. Brynn Fernholz had 5 points, 4 steals, 2 rebounds and an assist. Kaitlyn Sanstead added 4 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Hailey Bennett scored 2 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Lizzie Rustan had 2 points, 5 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Kaylyn Ulrich had 2 points and a rebound, Ireland Winter scored 2 points, Teagan Nelson had a point, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, and Brooke Anderson had a steal.

The Lady Knights will have their next game on Tuesday, January 8 in Barrett at 6:00pm against Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.
