Barnesville hosted Frazee in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys basketball contest on Friday night. The Trojans held a 26-24 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Hornets by the score of 63-54. Barnesville improved their record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the HOL.
Kellen Hinsz (16 points, 7 steals, 5 rebounds), Adam Tonsfeldt (15 points, 5 steals, 5 assists, 4 rebounds), Sam Askegaard (10 points) and Hunter Zenzen (6 points, 10 rebounds) led the attack for the Trojans. Barnesville shot 34% (21-61) from the field and made 18-of-28 free throws. They held a slim 44-41 edge on the boards.
Frazee shot 35% (21-59) on their field goal attempts, but only shot 9 free throws, making 5 of them. The Hornets were led by Broden Fleisher’s 25 points, which included four 3-point field goals. Cole Fleisher and Jack Courneya added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
