The West Central Area Lady Knights hosted the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors Thursday night in a conference game. The game was never in question from the very beginning with the Knights jumping to an 18-4 lead. The Warriors went on a 7-0 run to trail 18-11, but the Knights regained their composure and led 52-31 at halftime. The Knights and Warriors had an even battle in the second half, but the hot start was too much to overcome for the Warriors. The final score tonight was 86-62.

The Lady Knights were led by Lexi Bright with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and a block. Ella Van Kempen had 15 points and she added 8 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block. Hailey Bennett scored 14 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, with 2 steals and an assist. Brynn Fernholtz chipped in 9 points, an assist and 3 rebounds. Kaitlyn Sanstead had 6 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Kennedy Ulrich scored 5 points, with 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Kaitlyn Hansen had 3 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Ireland Winter had 2 points and 2 rebounds. Morgan Woodle had 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Teagan Nelson had a rebound and an assist. Brooke Anderson had an assist and a rebound. Kaylyn Ulrich had 2 rebounds on the night.

“Tonight we converted our chances and attacked most of the night. We played a solid game,” said Head Coach Eric Schoenbauer. “The bad part of tonight is that we still gave up 62 points and we should do a better job finishing possessions.”
