“The kids are playing really well, they’re having fun, playing unselfish basketball and playing together like they did during the football season,” pointed out Assistant Coach Tracy Hinsz. “They are sharing the ball well as is evident by our 20 assists tonight, and they are bringing a lot of intensity to the floor every night.”
Barnesville as led by Kellen Hinsz (21 points, 4-9 3’s, 6 rebounds) and Adam Tonsfeldt (16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals). Jason Henrickson (9 points, 5 rebound, 3 assists), Sam Askegaard (9 points, 3 rebounds), Brooks Martinson (9 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals), Hunter Zenzen (8 points) and Grant Inniger (2 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals) all contributed to the win.
The Trojans made 26-of-61 (43%) of their field goal attempts and hit 10-of-27 (37%) of their 3-pointers. They also won the battle of the boards, 37-35 and forced 26 turnovers by the Wolverines. Wadena-Deer Creek shot 42% (23-55) from the floor and made 8-of-24 treys for 33%.
Bereket Loer made five 3’s and led the visitors with 17 points. Lucas Hinojos added 11 points.
Barnesville will face the Henning Hornets on Thursday at 4:15pm at Concordia College in Moorhead as a part of the Blizzard of Basketball Holiday Tournament.
