Brandon-Evansville hosted Ortonville in a high school boys basketball contest on Thursday night in Evansville. The Trojans held a slim 25-23 advantage at the half and went on to post a 60-51 win over the Chargers.

“We fought hard all game, but didn't take care of the ball well enough to win,” commented Head Coach Trent Hintermeister of B-E. “We can't have that many turnovers and expect to win against a team like Ortonville. They have 2 really good players and we didn't do a good enough job to contain them. We had our chances and I'm proud of how we fought tonight. Not having Tanner Bitzan hurt us, but other guys stepped up and played well in his absence.”

Keagan Schiele led the Chargers with 17 points, 5 assists, 9 rebounds and a steal. Marshall Riedel added 8 points, while Eli Anderson and Sam Fuller added 4 points and 7 rebounds apiece.

Brandon-Evansville (5-3) is off until January 3 when they will travel to Battle Lake to face the Battlers in a Little Eight Conference matchup.

“We have played a challenging first 8 games and look forward to building on our 5-3 record after the Holiday Break,” added Coach Hintermeister.
