The Ashby Boys Basketball Team lost in overtime 70-67 to the undefeated Henning Hornets on Tuesday night.  Henning had a 31-28 lead at the halftime break.

The Arrows were down 10 late in the game, made a run to tie it, got a big stop and just missed a three at the end of regulation.  The Hornets scored the first basket of overtime and nailed the game at the free throw line.

Parker Fraki led the Hornets in scoring with 24 points.  Also scoring in double figures for the Hornets were Sam Fisher and Isaac Fisher who tallied 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Arrows were led by Jaden Norby's 24 points.  Christian Norby was next with 18.  Scott Johnson had 13 points and Hunter Norby came off the bench to contribute 10 points.  Noah Johnson netted two free throws.

Henning shot 71% (15/21) from the free throw line while the Arrows shot just 33% (5/15) from the charity stripe.

“It was an intensely contested high school basketball game,” said Head Coach John Holsten of the Arrows.  “Every possession mattered.  Dakota Ecker played all 40 minutes against aggressive defensive pressure and committed just one turnover for the game.  Henning is a fundamentally sound, athletic, and well-coached basketball club.”

The Arrows' record falls to 3-2.  They return to Little Eight Conference play Thursday night and host the Rothsay Tigers.
