Poepping pinned Levi Line of LPGE-Browerville and Tucker Hugg of St. Cloud Apollo to start the tournament, then was pinned by Dylan Jergenson of Minnewaska Area in his quarterfinal match, sending him into the consolation matches. He recorded pins over Andrew Annette of Detroit Lakes and Brock Kako of United North Central before losing a 13-8 decision to Cody Kurth of Hutchinson in the consolation semifinals. In the fifth place match, Poepping won a technical fall over Mason Iverson of Thief River Falls.
