Otter Girls Turn in Dominant Performance in Crookston

Jade Zierden and Vivian Karsnia each scored two goals and Ellie Andersen, Sophie Rausch, Hope Goepferd, Hallie Sheridan and Amy Johnson each had two assists as the Fergus Falls girls hockey team dominated the action on Saturday afternoon in Crookston, beating the Pirates 6-0. 

The Otters put 36 shots on goal and Mady Eklund face only three shots in the game. 

Fergus Falls took a 2-0 lead after one period with Maddie Hulter cashing in the first goal with assists from Goepferd and Piper Andrews just fifty-one seconds into the game. Zierden’s goal at 12:34 came on the power play and was assisted by Rausch and Andersen. 

Karsnia notched second period goals at 6:31 and 9:20 with Sheridan and Johnson assisting on her first tally and Rausch and Johnson earning assists on her second goal. Zierden recorded her second power play goal at 15:05 of the second period, assisted by Sheridan and Andersen, giving the Otters a 5-0 lead. 

In the final period, Andrews scored the final goal with Hulter and Goepferd assisting. 

Fergus Falls is now 8-3. They will play at Alexandria on Tuesday night.
