The Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team lost to Mora by a score of 66-63 in the first game of the Kimball Holiday tournament on Friday night.

“We played badly in the first half, it's really that simple,” stated Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We weren't ready to go and Mora took advantage of that. We need to put a full game together. When we figure out how to do that, we will be able to win games like this.  We were down 18 early in the second half and then turned it on. We fought to be within 2 with under 2 minutes left in the game.”

Leaders for B-E were Tanner Bitzan with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals. Marshall Riedel contributed 15 points, 3 assists and a pair of steals, and Keagan Schiele had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The Chargers shot 44% (22-50) from the field.

“I'm proud of these guys for their fight and effort in the second half,” noted Hintermeister. “Tanner Bitzan gets a lot of credit for that surge. He had his 3rd double double in a row by being a bully on the boards. We will make some adjustments and hopefully be better earlier in games. Luckily we still have a lot of season left to continue improving.”

Brandon-Evansville (3-2) will face PACT Charter in the third place game Saturday in Kimball.
