Otter Boys Hockey Team Wins Behind 4 Goal Second Period

The Fergus Falls boys hockey team scored four second period goals and went on to defeat River Lakes by the score of 5-3 on Friday night at the Community Ice Arena in Fergus Falls. 

Each team had 28 shots on goal and Ian Stumbo came up with 25 saves in the Otter net. 

Declan Young got the scoring started at 2:15 of the second period with assists going to Aaron Shelstad and Isaac Ahlgren. River Lakes pulled even at 10:14 on an unassisted goal by Blake Blattner. At 12:49 the Otters took a 2-1 lead when Isaac Young assisted Mike DeBrito. Declan Young added an unassisted tally at 13:06 and the Fergus Falls lead expanded to 4-1 when Sehlstad scored from Ahlgren and Cole Zierden

River Lakes trimmed the lead to 4-3 on goals by Sam Howard at 1;09 and Tanner Stanley at 2:15. Both goals were setup by Quintin Ruhland. Shelstad added his second goal, assisted by Mason Hoffman at 4:20 to complete the scoring. 

Fergus Falls (2-3-1) will host Red Wing at 2:00pm Saturday.
