The Fergus Falls boys basketball team struggled to score points on Friday night as they lost to Alexandria 45-40 at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.  The Otters also lost senior Matt Johnson to an ankle injury.  Johnson had originally tweaked his ankle in the Otters road win on Tuesday night in Sauk Rapids.

Parker Jacobs connected on a 3-point field goal to start the game, but Alexandria built a 17-12 halftime lead.

The Cardinals outscored the Otters 15-3 from the free throw line in the game and held a 33-21 edge on the boards.  They were led by Treyton Thompson with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

Sophomore Dominic Aguilar led the Otters with 12 points, all of them coming in the second half.  Nic Pearson hit a pair of 3's and finished with 8 points, and Ethan Olson also added 8 points.  Aguilar contributed 4 rebounds and 4 assists, and Jacobs also had 4 boards.

Fergus Falls (3-2) will close out their pre-Christmas schedule with a pair of road games next week, travelling to St. Cloud to face Tech on Tuesday and to Moorhead for a game against the Spuds on Thursday.
