Jadyn McKeever stopped 24 of the 26 shots she faced on Thursday as the Fergus Falls girls hockey team recorded a 4-2 road win over River Lakes. The Otters put 21 shots on goal in the contest.

Fergus Falls jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period as Chloe Nelson scored just 26 seconds into the game, assisted by Ellie Andersen and Sophie Rausch. Rausch got the Otters second goal at 15:34 with assists from Andersen and Jade Zierden

Piper Andrews made it 3-0 at 1:27 of the second period, assisted by Hallie Sheridan. River Lakes got on the board at 5:45 when McKenzie Cremers scored from Olivia Haines

In the third period, Fergus Falls regained their three goal lead when Andersen scored from Sheridan at 3:09. River Lakes finished the scoring with an unassisted tally by Hannah Zimmer at 13:37.

“This was a hard fought road win in a tough rink to play in,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill. “Tempers were flaring and the girls didn’t back down. Old Time Hockey prevailed, we didn’t forget who knocked us out of the playoffs last year.”

Fergus Falls (7-3) will play at noon on Saturday in Crookston.
