Perham Boys Defeat Caledonia at Breakdown Classic

The Perham boys basketball team featured a balanced scoring attack on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Caledonia Warriors by the score of 66-61 at the Breakdown Tip-Off Classic in Hopkins. 

Carter Cresap led the Yellowjackets with 19 points, hitting 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. Josh Jeziorski was 9-for-10 from the free throw line, finishing with 15 points, and completed his double-double by gathering 12 rebounds. Charlie Rasmussen added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and also had 6 rebounds. Jensen Beachy was also in double figures with 13 points, while dishing out 5 assists. Finn Diggins contributed 5 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. 

Perham shot 40% (20-50) from the field and made 19-of-22 (86.4%) free throws. They also held a 33-24 edge on the boards and had only 12 turnovers on the day. 

Noah King scored 17 to lead Caledonia. Riley Gavin added 14, and two players, Eli King and Casey Storlie contributed 13 points apiece. Storlie and Eli King led the Warriors in rebounds with 7 and 6, respectively. 

Perham (2-1) will host Breckenridge in a Heart O’ Lakes contest on Friday.
