The Fergus Falls girls hockey team improved their season record to 6-2 with a 4-1 win over St. Cloud on Thursday night at the Community Ice Arena in Fergus Falls.

“Tired legs in the third gave St. Cloud a chance to get back in it, but big time goaltending by Jadyn McKeever and a timely goal by Ellie Andersen put them away,” recalled Head Coach Tim Lill of the Otters. “Our third game in six days and our girls wouldn’t use it as an excuse. We better not, East side won’t care when they come in Saturday afternoon.”

Sophie Rausch got the Otters on the board at 14:13 of the first period with an assist from Piper Andrews

Liz Mattson assisted on a second Rausch goal at 3:40 of the second period. Hallie Sheridan made it 3-0 with a power play goal from Andersen and Rausch.

Gabbie Rud scored a power play goal from Abigail Chamernick and Taylor Holm at 5:31 of the third period, cutting the Fergus Falls lead to 3-1.

Fergus Falls added a goal at 12:55 of the third when Sheridan and Andrews assisted on a goal by Andersen.

Fergus Falls had 39 shots on goal and McKeever stopped 18 of 19 St. Cloud shots.
